DTE Beacon Park

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Tooles-Allied currently serves as the General Contractor for the DTE Beacon Park project.

The Park has a dual purpose – to provide a pleasant place for DTE’s 3,500 downtown employees and others and also to spark new development in the underused district. The 1.5-acre triangular plot of land, bounded by Grand River Avenue, Plaza Drive and First Street in the heart of the central business district, will bring much-needed green space to the downtown area.

Plans for the 56,000 square foot park include a green space in the center and a “signature, year-round restaurant, as well as a large outdoor patio eating area, and a rooftop eating area that will have panoramic views of the city behind it. The roof deck will be 735 square feet and hold nearly 50 people. The central lawn will also include a “roll-in” stage to be used for concerts or other performances, two areas for food trucks or vendors and bicycle parking. It is expected to have room for 3,000 visitors at a time.
