PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Tooles-Allied was selected to provide services for the refurbishment of two of the constant speed vertical centrifugal Flowserve pumps currently installed at the Detroit Wastewater Treatment Plant. Pumps P-11 and P-14 will be refurbished by replacing the entire rotating assembly (pull-out assembly), the pump suction head, and the suction elbow to improve the hydraulic conditions entering the pump. The pump motors and drive shaft have been previously evaluated and will continue in use with the refurbished pumps. The instrumentation on the existing pump will also remain in place. Following re-installation of the refurbished pumps, each pump will be field tested with instrumentation provided by the pump manufacturer to verify that the performance guarantee has been met.
