PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Tooles-Allied provided general contracting services for a new building and the upgrades to the existing waste water treatment plant. Scope included construction of a new Headworks Building and all of the systems that it housed and associated yard piping was constructed, fully operational and accepted by the Owner, before any removal, demolition or plugging took place in the existing barminuters, wet well, raw effluent pump area, or grit area. The sampling piping, pumps and valves were not able to be relocated until the new systems were online. Piping penetrations (supernatant) and removals (spray wash) into the aeration tanks were coordinated with the diffuser replacement. Only two aeration tanks were able to be out of service at a time. The concrete repairs and aeration system removal and replacement were coordinated by Tooles-Allied as well as the primary clarifier influent channel core and 6″ piping extension. New systems were also online before electrical demolition and abandonment occurred.
